Every site here gets a number out of 10. This page is what that number is built from, who sets it and who checks it before the review goes live.
What a review is based on
We pay for the subscription. All 12 sites reviewed on this site were signed up for with a card, watched on a real account and then cancelled, so the cancellation flow gets tested too. Nothing here comes from a press kit or an affiliate feed.
That mostly matters for the boring parts. The trial price on the join page is easy to find. What the trial rebills to on day three, whether the checkout arrives with a pre-checked cross-sale, whether cancelling takes two clicks or an email, none of that shows up until you go through it.
The four grades
Each site is graded separately on four things, each out of 10. Those grades are what the ranking pages are sorted by, which is why a site can sit near the top of one list and mid-table on another.
- Payment and value. Trial price, monthly price and what the cheapest recurring plan works out to per month. Sites ranked by payment and value.
- Quality. The top resolution the site actually delivers, held against the size of the library and how often it is added to. Sites ranked by quality.
- Quantity. How many videos the membership gives you and how many sites the network covers. Sites ranked by quantity.
- Updates. How often new scenes land. Sites ranked by update frequency.
These four are the countable part. Interface, checkout behaviour and how consistent the catalogue feels are written about in the review text, not folded into a grade.
The score in the badge
It is not the average of the four grades.
Adult Time grades 7, 10, 10 and 10 on the four axes. That averages 9.3. Its headline score is 8. The four grades measure what can be counted; the badge is a judgement about whether the subscription is worth paying for, and on 11 of the 12 reviews here it is the lower of the two numbers.
All 12 sites currently land on 7 or 8. The list is deliberately short and covers large paid brands rather than sweeping everything on the market, so the spread is narrow. If a site drops below what we would sign up for again, the review says so in the text and in the cons.
Who checks the numbers
Reviews are written by Thalric Bjornfinn, who does the testing, sets the scores and re-checks the figures before anything goes out. This is a one-person site. There is no second reviewer signing off, and claiming one would be the first thing on this page worth not trusting.
The re-check is a fixed list, run again right before a review or a ranking page is published: the trial and monthly price against what the join page charges today, the video count against the site's own browse pages, the update claim against the last month of new scenes, and what the rebill does if you leave the subscription alone. When a figure does not hold up, the page waits until it does.
How this site makes money
Some outbound links to the reviewed sites are affiliate links, marked as sponsored. Sign up through one and we get paid. Nobody buys a place in a ranking or a higher score, and no reviewed site sees the text before it goes live.
When a review changes
Prices move more often than anything else on these sites. The date at the top of every review and every ranking page is the last time that page was updated, so it is worth a look before you take a price at face value.
